Since June 2013, we have been working with Gore Mutual Insurance Company of Cambridge, Ontario, in preparation of the company’s forthcoming 175thanniversary as one of Canada’s oldest insurance companies. Founded in 1839, the Gore, as the company was called throughout most of its long history, predates modern Canada by almost 30 years. Extensive research in the Gore Archives by Dr. Frisse is currently flowing into the production of various historical content applications to mark Gore Mutual’s special anniversary, including a commemorative historical book, a historical calendar, and a new corporate brochure. As part of the Gore Corporate History project, and together with Gore’s welcoming staff, we have directed a photo shoot to visually capture some of the company’s invaluable documents and artefacts. Over the course of the next couple of months, Dr. Frisse will present his research to Gore employees and brokers, both in person and through online channels. With an eye to the future, we are also assisting Gore Mutual with a strategic plan for the long-term preservation of the company’s fascinating records. Thank you, Gore Mutual, for an exciting opportunity!
